Spanish I

  • who need to master basic interactions: greetings, directions, number-associated tasks, etc.
  • who are HR professionals and need to explain and elicit basic information.
  • who need to interact with Hispanic clients, guests and team members.
  • who enjoy learning a new language.

Students Completing This Course Will Be Able To:

  • Greet, give and comprehend directions, provide and elicit personal information in Spanish.
  • Count, tell time, ask and explain about costs and prices in Spanish.
  • Understand gender and number, describe people, places, and things in conversational contexts in Spanish.
  • Have a basic understanding of noun + adjective agreement, basic verb conjugation (predictable patterns, and need to + verb) in Spanish. 
  • Ser vs. Estar = Verb “to be” for location and description.

Course Duration:

20 to 30 hours of practical and participatory classroom instruction
